About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and following the specifically defined policies and procedures of Springfield Hospital, the Maintenance Generalist will be responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of a variety of building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, buildings and grounds, landscaping, and non-medical equipment in compliance with the applicable CMS Conditions of Participation. This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance of critical and non-critical systems, equipment, and components, as well as developing preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based upon manufacturer’s recommendations. The position also requires coordinating with vendors/contractors for projects and maintenance, and participating in hospital and departmental safety programs, education opportunities, and related training. This position requires rotating on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years’ general maintenance experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Basic computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial construction experience
  • Health care environment experience
  • Carpentry/ experience, including masonry, wall finishing, cabinetry, etc.
  • Training/certification in construction technology, facility maintenance, carpentry or other related field

Responsibilities
