About The Position

The Phlebotomist will perform proper specimen collection by confirming patient ID, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling the specimens to ensure accurate patient results. This role involves providing customer service by answering broad technical questions and directing others to appropriate resources. The Phlebotomist will manage specimen accessioning accurately and efficiently to provide quality specimens for laboratory testing, and ensure accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity. Additionally, the position requires performing billing and registration procedures accurately and efficiently to ensure regulatory compliance. Effective communication and cooperation with others are essential for optimizing job performance and fostering working relationships. This position will be located at the Ludlow Health Center, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Familiar with computer and office equipment
  • Organizational and team skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year phlebotomy experience
  • Phlebotomy experience with children
  • Enrollment in phlebotomy certification class or completion of accredited phlebotomy course
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems
  • Phlebotomy certification
