About The Position
The Zone Maintenance Foreman directs and supervises highly skilled trades personnel in the construction, repair, and alteration within the building(s) envelope and surrounding perimeter, following recognized procedures and techniques of the construction industry and University standards. This position is a working foreman and will be responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks. This individual will be responsible for making plans and schedules work for the group supervised, ensuring adequate coverage, proper distribution of work assignments, and for ensuring quality expectations are met. This employee inspects work sites to ensure accurate reporting regarding materials-on-hand in addition to policy compliance by continually monitoring the work sites and keeping the maintenance shops clean and safe. This person will also conduct various personnel actions including but not limited to: hiring, promotions, transfers, paid time off schedules, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- Highly skilled trades personnel
- Knowledge of recognized procedures and techniques of the construction industry
- Knowledge of University standards
- Ability to make plans and schedule work
- Ability to inspect work sites and report accurately on materials-on-hand
- Ability to monitor work sites for policy compliance
- Ability to maintain clean and safe maintenance shops
- Experience in conducting personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, PTO schedules, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions)
