About The Position

Syngenta's Maintenance team is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Co-op in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. This continuous, full-time co-op program is open to Mechanical Engineering students and provides experience in the demanding environment of chemical facility maintenance. Co-op engineers work alongside industry professionals on real projects and practical solutions. The estimated duration is May 2027 through June 2028.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program, have junior class standing, and be in good academic standing with the university.
• Have completed relevant core basic science and engineering classes through the sophomore level, such as Physics, Chemistry, Fluid Mechanics, Statics, Strength of Materials, and Thermodynamics.
• Have experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States; international students will not be considered given the position's duration.
• Be fluent in English.
• Have a minimum overall and major GPA of 2.5.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment studies for reliability engineering.
• Create sketches and part drawings for fabrication.
• Develop testing and feasibility studies using fundamental engineering principles.
• Scope and execute small capital projects.
• Develop equipment repair procedures and check sheets.
• Assist Maintenance Engineers in daily work.
