About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer operates central HVAC and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently, following sound engineering practices and corporate operating procedures. The role repairs and maintains food production and kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, ice machines, refrigeration systems, boilers, plumbing, and electrical and natural gas distribution systems. It also involves troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic problems and performing ongoing preventive and predictive maintenance.

This position requires previous hotel engineering experience and the ability to maintain and operate advanced building systems. The posting describes an in-office physical environment that includes extended periods at a desk and computer, occasional standing and walking, and some lifting and movement of items.

Requirements

• Previous hotel engineering experience, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction.
• Vocational training, an associate's degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more relevant areas; state certification or licensure where required.
• Ability to understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate central HVAC and mechanical equipment using sound engineering practices and specified corporate operating procedures.
• Repair and maintain food production and related kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, ice machines, refrigeration systems, boilers, plumbing systems, and electrical and natural gas distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic problems and repair them as quickly and economically as possible.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on an ongoing basis.
