About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer performs maintenance and repairs in specialized areas including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. The role cleans and maintains equipment and work areas, documents parts used and needed for purchase, and reports unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer. It also supports guest and departmental needs and conducts preventative maintenance throughout the property.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management, and building maintenance skills.
Minimal comprehension and literacy sufficient to read instructions and repair manuals.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Check with the Front Desk to ensure guest issues have been resolved.
Check HVAC loop and domestic hot water temperatures.
Walk the building daily to identify lights that are out and any obvious breakdowns, blemishes, or other problems.
Follow up on Housekeeping maintenance calls.
Repair broken furniture as assigned.
Ensure all work orders are completed.
Check with the Chief Engineer to ensure inventory is adequate.
Change air and water filters throughout the building.
Conduct preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public spaces, the kitchen, restaurant, storage, and office areas.
Assist valet with guest vehicle issues such as jump starts and flat tires.
Assist guests with internet connectivity issues.
Assist other departments within the property as needed.
Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
Document parts used and parts needed for purchase.
Report unsafe conditions to the Chief Engineer.
