About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is hiring a part-time Maintenance Engineer for Holiday Inn Oceanside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role maintains the property grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, performs preventive maintenance, responds to maintenance requests, and helps ensure hotel equipment and facilities operate properly. The position calls for knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry, along with effective communication, time management, and guest-service skills. Requirements

At least three years of hotel maintenance experience is preferred; the posting states “three (2) years.”
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry.
Basic math skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to exceed the expectations of guests and team members.
Excellent time-management skills.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, bend, stretch, push, pull, move as needed to reach and service machinery, visually inspect machines, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One year of college or trade-school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines is preferred but not required.
Hotel maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms.
Conduct preventive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
Paint, replace electrical accessories, and maintain HVAC systems.
Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
Respond to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
Fulfill work orders in a timely manner.
Complete daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
