About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is hiring an energetic, experienced, hands-on Maintenance Engineer with HVAC experience for Hotel Ballast. The role maintains the hotel’s grounds, public areas, guest rooms, and equipment, helping prevent breakdowns and responding to maintenance needs in a timely manner. The position requires knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry. The job description notes that duties may also include other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and general carpentry.
Basic math skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to exceed the expectations of guests and team members.
Excellent time management skills.

Nice To Haves

Hotel maintenance experience; the posting lists a minimum of three (2) years as preferred.
One year of college or trade school equivalent in mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines; preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms.
Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
Paint, replace electrical accessories, and maintain HVAC systems.
Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
Respond to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
Fulfill work orders in a timely manner.
Complete daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
