About The Position
Elmer's Home Services is seeking a dependable, motivated HVAC Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The role helps ensure efficient system operation and customer comfort, and calls for attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships. The technician communicates findings to customers, recommends repairs or improvements, documents service accurately, and maintains company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working order. The position also requires following company, safety, and industry standards and delivering service in line with the company's core values. The company serves the San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth areas and describes its work culture as focused on customer care, safety, integrity, teamwork, ongoing training, and employee development. Compensation is competitive hourly pay based on experience, with potential incentives and commissions for system renewals or accessory sales.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- 2–4 years of HVAC maintenance or service experience.
- EPA Universal Certification, or ability to obtain it.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups on air conditioning and heating systems.
- Inspect HVAC systems to identify wear, leaks, and potential issues.
- Replace or clean filters, inspect electrical connections, and verify refrigerant levels.
- Clearly and professionally communicate maintenance findings to customers.
- Recommend repairs or system improvements to enhance performance and energy efficiency.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.
- Keep the company vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe working order.
- Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with the company's core values.
