As an HVAC Maintenance Technician at Hawkins Service Company, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and system checks on residential HVAC units to ensure optimal performance, safety, and energy efficiency. This role focuses on preventative maintenance rather than troubleshooting or repairs. You will help homeowners extend the life of their HVAC systems through regular tune-ups, filter changes, cleaning, and inspections—all while providing excellent customer service and education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification required.
  • Prior experience in HVAC maintenance, installation, or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Must have own basic hand tools; company provides specialized equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance visits and tune-ups on residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps.
  • Inspect, clean, and replace filters, coils, condensate lines, and other system components.
  • Check system operation, thermostat accuracy, refrigerant levels, and electrical connections.
  • Identify potential issues and communicate findings to customers and the service team for follow-up repairs.
  • Record all maintenance work performed using company systems and documentation standards.
  • Educate customers on system care, maintenance plans, and energy-saving practices.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
