About The Position

Erie Foods, an Actus Nutrition Company, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join its Rochelle, Illinois team. The role focuses primarily on electrical maintenance and repair, including work on PLCs, wiring, relays, contactors, switches, and fuse boxes. The electrician diagnoses electrical issues using equipment documentation and may consult original equipment manufacturers to determine repairs. The position also includes inspections, preventive maintenance, equipment testing, repair documentation, and some general non-electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

Complete work orders prioritized by the Maintenance Manager, with primary emphasis on electrical systems.
Diagnose electrical problems using prints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and assistance from original equipment manufacturers as needed.
Conduct daily plant walkthroughs and inspections of equipment such as boilers, air compressors, drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters.
Recommend repairs before equipment fails and promptly address equipment presenting safety concerns.
Work with production personnel and other plant staff to test equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and verify component functionality.
Repair or replace wiring and electronic components, including disassembling and reassembling equipment as needed.
Record maintenance and repair work on work orders and daily shift reports.
Adjust, modify, repair, or replace process control instruments, including thermocouples, chart recorders, temperature controllers, motor encoders, bin level sensors, and proximity sensors.
Operate common hand and power tools as required.
Assist and work with electrical and non-electrical contractors at the facility.
Complete assigned or necessary non-electrical work orders, including building maintenance, structural repairs, and basic plumbing repairs.
Keep plant grounds and the maintenance shop clean and orderly.
Perform preventive maintenance according to the Maintenance Manager's schedule.
Purchase electrical supplies and other parts or communicate purchasing needs to the Maintenance Manager.
Follow company policies, including those concerning safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Human Resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
