About The Position

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties: 1. Installs and maintains electrical systems that operate on alternating or direct current circuits, generators, transformers, and appliances through panels, switches, meters, and circuit breakers. 2. Repairs motors and other electrical/electronic controls. 3. Repairs and maintains electrical switchboards, panels, and other apparatus utilizing electricity. 4. Tests malfunctioning machinery to diagnose malfunctioning equipment. 5. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices. 6. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. 7. Replaces electric motor bearings and reconnects motors. 8. Pushes buttons and presses keys on teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs. 9. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. 10. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic electrical components of machines and equipment. 11. Support the Plant quality systems goals/improvements & productivity goals/improvements within the scope of the job. 12. Support the Plant safety programs/goals within the scope of the job. 13. Regular and predictable attendance. 14. Compliance with applicable Company, Corporate, State, & Federal regulations. 15. 5S (Sort, Shine, Set in Order, Standardize, and Sustain) is required of every job.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with vendors or employees of organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and to deal with variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is variable and can be very loud.
