About The Position

This role requires exceptional knowledge of facilities electrical/main services and related support service systems, with certification in the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of power distribution systems, diagnosing and responding quickly to system repairs, and employing effective repair techniques. The position involves identifying areas of energy waste and implementing logical, cost-effective improvements, as well as collaborating with department heads to resolve power and lighting issues.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply NEC rules to all electrical work done at Lands' End by maintenance personnel.
  • Continual education to maintain NEC certification.
  • Minimum of Journeyman level or equivalent (5 years) of commercial and industrial electrical experience.
  • Expert knowledge in the use of test equipment (digital and analog volt, ohm and ammeters; gauss meter; and infrared scanning equipment).
  • Good computer skills, with the ability to use it as a maintenance tool (research, testing, Internet).
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust to changing schedules.
  • Ability to provide updated information and training procedures to maintenance personnel.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must obtain certification to operate forklifts and all Lands' End motorized vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the highest possible safety standards during installation practices and equipment repair operations.
  • Using a wide variety of testing equipment including: digital and analog volt, ohm and ammeters; gauss meter; and infrared scanning equipment.
  • Continually researching industry standards to maintain the highest efficiency of lighting and power systems.
  • Working with local utilities to communicate possible problems, such as scheduled power outages and rolling blackouts.
  • Familiarity with vendors available to supply inventory and emergency service when needed.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate records and files of maintenance procedures.
  • Working with Facility Planning on in-house projects.
  • Learning and complying with all company safety rules.
  • Using appropriate safety equipment at all times.
  • Immediately reporting all unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Being familiar with all safety features of equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties.
  • Checking with supervisor if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.
