Maintenance Electrician

About The Position

This role is responsible for providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performing scheduled maintenance repairs. The position involves diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, and making adjustments. The Maintenance Electrician will perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities, and will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventative maintenance program, and departmental procedures. Additionally, the role includes performing scheduled preventative maintenance checks of all electrical alarms and mechanical and preventative maintenance work on equipment as per the preventative maintenance manual. The position also involves preparing purchase orders for supplies and adapting to ongoing changes and new technology.

Requirements

Completion of apprenticeship program or ticketed Electrician.
Licensed journeyman
Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment.
Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Accurate and highly analytical.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detects faulty operations, defective material and reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
Completes all necessary reports and records related to the department as required.
Keeps current with ongoing changes and new technology and adapt accordingly.
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and maintains various electrical components, and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventative maintenance program and departmental procedures.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance checks of all electrical alarms.
Performs mechanical and preventative maintenance work on equipment as per preventative maintenance manual.
Prepares purchase orders for the purpose of securing needed supplies.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
