About The Position

Sika is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for its Roofing business in Canton, MA. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment. The position involves performing preventative maintenance and ensuring high quality work with a focus on Environment, Health, and Safety. The shift for this role is B-Shift, working Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The company offers competitive salaries based on education, experience, and qualifications, with a 20% shift differential.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Licensed journeyman electrician in the state of Massachusetts
  • 5 years industrial or manufacturing related work experience
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Understanding of PLC controlled production lines
  • Experience in running EMT, Rigid conduit, threading and bending EMT form 1/2" to 2", (kicks, saddles, 90’s, offsets, etc.).
  • Experience with repair, installs, replacement, and testing of electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Extensive understanding of electrical networking and control systems
  • Ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment such as Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, and Megohmmeter.
  • Knowledge of AC Motor Controls, DC Motors and Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Controls from wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of machinery (mechanical, electrical, PLC controlled).
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Run EMT, Rigid conduit, threading and bending EMT from 1/2" to 2" (kicks, saddles, 90’s, offsets, etc.).
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment (Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, Megohmmeter).
  • Troubleshoot PLC Controlled Equipment.
  • Work with AC Motor Controls, DC Motors and Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Controls using wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
  • Work independently and professionally, completing work orders and maintenance log books in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Maintain high quality standards with a daily focus on Environment, Health, and Safety.
