About The Position

The Leggett & Platt Flooring division in Statesville, NC is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join their Maintenance team, supporting the Carpet Underlay business. Leggett & Platt, with over 130 years of history, is a leading supplier of various products and components. In this role, the Maintenance Electrician will assist the maintenance department and/or mechanics by creating, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic components and equipment, and will also assist with mechanical tasks. This position directly impacts business efficiency by ensuring machinery and facilities run smoothly, working collaboratively with the team to complete projects in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and do advanced math
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to change from one task to another frequently
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds
  • Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools
  • Ability to maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed
  • Available to work on required Saturday’s

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing setting, building maintenance, preventative maintenance and basic electrical

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices, using hand tools.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Perform special projects/duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
