About The Position

The Maintenance Electrical Supervisor maintains the College's low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems following required safety protocols. Tests and troubleshoot complex electrical systems with a strong understanding of electrical controls and schematics. The supervisor will coordinate daily work assignments, support preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensures that electrical systems, controls, equipment, and projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. This position is also responsible for assisting with all problems and/or emergencies relating to facility issues on campus.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and plumbing systems
Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for secondary systems 1000 volt and below.
Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position.
Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
Formal education equivalent of a high school diploma & Master Electrician License
Five years of experience in the electrical field
Two years in a supervisory capacity.
Intermediate computer knowledge
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in Industrial Electronics or equivalent
Certification in Electrical Troubleshooting or equivalent
Certificate in Electrical Motor Diagnostics or equivalent

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, coach, develop, and support skilled trades employees in the safe and efficient completion of daily work.
Plan, assign, and schedule electrical maintenance work, repairs, installations, upgrades, and project activities to support the college's needs.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical guidance for electrical issues.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life.
Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, electrical codes, and established work standards.
Help identify root causes, resolve recurring issues, and implement continuous improvement solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
