About The Position
Lead Electrical Reliability for a Steel Mill $115K-$130K + Bonus + Relocation Assistance within the U.S. | Leadership Role - Day Shift At Gerdau, you'll have the opportunity to lead a skilled electrical maintenance team, influence reliability strategy, and drive continuous improvement across critical production systems. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll partner directly with plant leadership and have the support, resources, and technology needed to improve equipment performance and develop your team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field OR HS Diploma/GED and 5+ years of job-related work experience in lieu of degree.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, steel, metals, mining, pulp and paper, chemical processing, power generation, or related heavy industry
- Experience leading electrical maintenance or reliability teams
- Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, controls, and power distribution equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills
- Ability to build relationships across maintenance, operations, and engineering teams
Nice To Haves
- Experience with overhead cranes, utilities, mobile equipment, substations, switchyards, HVAC systems, or industrial environmental systems
- Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms
- Experience in steel manufacturing or other heavy industrial environments
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop electrical maintenance personnel
- Improve equipment reliability through predictive and preventive maintenance programs
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical and mechanical equipment issues
- Drive safety, environmental, quality, and operational excellence initiatives
- Partner with operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant performance
- Coach and develop employees through training, mentoring, and hands-on leadership
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, and root cause failure analysis
- Monitor performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve business objectives
- Manage routine maintenance activities, work execution, and reliability improvements
- Participate in outage planning, major repairs, and capital improvement projects
