About The Position

Assists and supports the development and implementation of TPM and LEAN manufacturing practices, preventative maintenance packages in SAP, work instructions, job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, operator safety checks, equipment documentation, and LOTO procedures. This role involves working with other sub-contractors and equipment owners to accomplish assigned projects and tasks, utilizing operator manuals, prints, procedures, and personnel to gather required information. The specialist will create LOTO documents, PM task lists, and PM Plans within SAP. Experience or schooling in electrical, mechanical, or a technical field is considered a plus. The role requires proactivity in tasks and projects, promoting efficiencies through time management techniques, and familiarity with general hand tools and DVOMs and their safe use. Experience and ability to work from a man-lift to create and label pipes is also noted. The position demands self-motivation and self-driven accomplishment of quality tasks and assignments in a timely manner with little or no supervision. Ensures compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures. Communicates with all team members to support short and long-range planning in support of company goals and objectives. Performs assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Handles accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion. Contributes to productivity saving goals and maintains positive customer and employee relations. Follows policies and procedures, responds to requests for service and assistance, designs workflows and procedures, demonstrates attention to detail, strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, builds morale and group commitments to goals and objectives, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, meets productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with JIT, LEAN, TPM, Six-S, and six-sigma philosophies and practices.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other general programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Explorer, and Photo Suite programs, Web, etc.
  • Ability to type 40 WPM.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to five years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Needs little supervision, can work in multiple trades alone, is adept at training others.
