About The Position

The Maintenance Director oversees the community's safety program, ensuring a secure environment for residents and staff in compliance with regulations. This role is responsible for sustaining a preventative maintenance program for all community equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The director will lead the maintenance team through hiring, training, scheduling, and providing exceptional services. Key responsibilities include mechanical repairs, maintaining various systems and equipment, efficiently completing maintenance requests, managing chemical inventory, implementing safety protocols, performing exterior maintenance, and conducting fire and disaster preparedness activities. The role also involves engaging with residents compassionately to foster a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
  • Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the maintenance team in providing exceptional services
  • Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls
  • Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment
  • Maintain community plumbing systems
  • Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
  • Conducts inventory on chemical supplies and complies with proper storage and usage procedures
  • Implements safety protocols and procedures to avert incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Performs exterior maintenance duties as necessary
  • Delivers fire and disaster education and performs preparation and drill activities with residents and team members
  • Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
