About The Position

The Maintenance/Custodian performs custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties to help ensure buildings and facilities are healthy, safe, and sanitary. The role is with Redfern Cornerstone at The Child Center of NY.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices and recreational facilities.
• Mop tile and concrete floor areas and vacuum carpeted areas.
• Wash and disinfect washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers, and fixtures.
• Clean mirrors and replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed.
• Empty waste baskets and garbage cans and place garbage in the outside storage bin.
• Clean entrances and exits, including glass, doors, and hardware.
• Keep the outside area near entrances and exits clear of snow, cans, paper, and other debris.
• Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs.
• Report damages and acts of vandalism.
• Wash and buff floors with a floor polisher.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
