About The Position

This position serves as the primary preventative maintenance Trades Technician for the Army Aviation Support Facility in Sandston, VA. The purpose of this role is to assist the Regional Operational Maintenance Managers (ROMMs) in the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of all associated buildings and grounds within the assigned ROMM’s region. This position ensures the Virginia Army National Guard has safe, high quality, cost effective, and timely building and grounds maintenance.

Requirements

• Documented trade experience in at least one of the following: Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
• A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required.
• Essential physical and mental capabilities including: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation.
• Ability to use various ladders/lifts.
• Ability to use various custodial and mowing equipment.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Virginia Herbicide/Pesticide Certification preferred.
• Must obtain a Virginia Herbicide/Pesticide Certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Responsibilities
