About The Position
The Maintenance Crew Leader I performs various duties including driving dump truck and operating equipment, as well as making small repairs and daily maintenance to trucks and equipment used. Other duties include construction related to street and drainage installation and/or maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class "A" Commercial Driver's License
- Two years of experience in operation of vehicles and light equipment
- Ability to understand and abide by City of Conroe and Departmental policies and procedures
- Must be able to lift weights of 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Must be capable of reading, writing and speaking in English
Responsibilities
- Driving dump truck and operating equipment
- Making small repairs and daily maintenance to trucks and equipment
- Construction related to street and drainage installation and/or maintenance
- Working on call duty and responding at any hour during an emergency
- Attending after hours classes to renew or obtain required certifications/licenses
- Working as many hours as needed to get assigned work completed
- Conducting routine maintenance to vehicles and equipment
- Using all tools to accomplish the job in an efficient manner
- Adapting to new technology, new methods and changing conditions
- Communicating using a two-way radio
