About The Position

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and productivity. This role involves scheduling and prioritizing various types of maintenance work orders, collaborating with operations and maintenance supervisors, and tracking maintenance requests and repairs using CMMS systems. The coordinator also manages contractor activities, ensures necessary resources are available for scheduled work, and generates maintenance reports and KPIs. Additionally, the position supports outage planning, maintains maintenance records, assists with root cause investigations, conducts field visits, promotes safety, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, planning, scheduling, or coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar maintenance software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, chemical, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with planning and scheduling methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and productivity.
  • Schedule and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance Supervisors, and Planners to establish maintenance priorities and schedules.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Track maintenance requests, repairs, and equipment history using CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar).
  • Coordinate contractor and vendor activities, including scheduling, site access, and work execution.
  • Ensure required materials, parts, permits, tools, and equipment are available for scheduled work.
  • Participate in daily and weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
  • Generate maintenance reports, KPIs, and equipment performance metrics.
  • Assist with outage, turnaround, and capital project planning activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment files, inspection documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Support root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct field visits to verify job scope, monitor work progress, and inspect completed work.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company and client safety policies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on maintenance efficiency, cost reduction, and equipment reliability.
