This role serves as a leader for a field team, dispatched when a small number of team members are required. The position involves up to five hours per week of administrative duties, such as managing time and attendance and submitting required reports. The primary function is to determine the scope of work by diagnosing problems, identifying necessary repairs, and estimating material and manning needs. The work is characterized by its technical complexity and difficulty, requiring advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems. The role also involves providing technical assistance and guidance to less experienced employees and may include inspecting their work. The Crew Leader leads a crew of ten or fewer employees, requiring minimal supervision. For crews exceeding ten employees, the role operates under the direct supervision of a burden leadman. Compliance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance is mandatory. A working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP, and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications is required. Qualified duties as assigned will also be performed.
