About The Position

The Maintenance Control Supervisor oversees daily operations, aircraft status, ongoing maintenance, and all information critical to the safe operation of the Company Fleet. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, auditing documentation for quality and compliance, and collaborating with various departments during irregular operations. The supervisor ensures that maintenance action plans are effectively managed and communicated, and that all maintenance processes adhere to company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Valid A&P License
  • Experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft
  • Ability to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals, and parts manuals
  • Good computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Maintenance Control experience is required
  • Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to give verbal and written directions
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Some college and/or technical school desirable
  • Good working knowledge of world geography and flight operations

Responsibilities

  • Continuously manage daily operations, aircraft status, ongoing maintenance, and information relevant to the safe operation of the Company Fleet.
  • Coordinate needed maintenance (open items, DMIs, COIs, etc.) with line maintenance station supervisors and flight maintenance engineers.
  • Review and audit completed log pages from line operations for quality and completion.
  • Audit prepare documents (e.g., Evaluation Flight Authorizations, ferry flights) for compliance with Kalitta Air GMM.
  • Provide efficient coordination with other departments within the Operations Control Center (OCC) during irregular operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate Maintenance Action Plans for time-limited maintenance tasks, DMI/COI, Advisory Notices, or other task requirements with the Supervisor on Duty/Operations Control Center daily.
  • Ensure irregular operations (tail swaps, schedule changes) do not interfere with Maintenance Action Plans; revise MAPs if necessary to accommodate operations without exceeding aircraft limits.
  • Coordinate and monitor irregular aircraft maintenance using third-party maintenance, including conference calls with flight maintenance engineers.
  • Provide a detailed turnover to the oncoming Maintenance Control Supervisor for shift cohesion.
  • Review the most current open DMI report for quality control and coordinate any required changes with OCC departments.
  • Ensure accurate information on open DMI/CDL items and flight restrictions is available to flight operations at dispatch.
  • Ensure the MEL Deferred Maintenance Item (DMI/CDL/COI) process follows KA GMM policies and procedures.
  • Ensure procedures for entering DMI/CDL/COI information into the AMOS database are followed.
  • Coordinate with Stores personnel for ordering and shipment of parts and materials to maintenance stations.
  • Provide reports of mechanical difficulties (e.g., ongoing delays, DMI status) to maintenance management.
  • Provide notice of SDR/MISR events to the Assistant Director of Quality Control.
  • Provide notice of all DMI extensions to all parties specified in the KA GMM.
  • Monitor LMP status and report to the Maintenance Control Manager and appropriate departments, ensuring LMP control procedures are utilized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Control Manager.
