About The Position

Responsible for management of Maintenance Control functions and performance of the Maintenance Control team. Administer the Allegiant Air deferred maintenance program including but not limited to MEL, CDL and NEF items. Provide leadership, oversight, general direction and performance reviews to the Maintenance Control staff. Develop and assess training effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Airframe and Powerplant license FCC license
  • Minimum five (5) years of aircraft maintenance control experience on all fleet types with a minimum three (3) years supervisor experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience maintenance/technical operations industry experience.
  • Ability to stay focused and work under pressure.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Adobe.
  • Previous budget responsibility and experience developing budgets.
  • Must have knowledge of ATA codes, FAR’s, AD’s, SB’s, EO’s, maintenance ferry and airborne test flight procedures as well as manpower requirements for inspections/system

Nice To Haves

  • A319/A320 & Boeing 737 Next Gen / MAX experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or Engineering related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plans for manpower utilization, staffing, scheduling, and training to meet Allegiant Air and FAA standards.
  • Ensure technical activities are coordinated with the OCC, Line Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance and Engineering departments to ensure that they are handled in a safe and expeditious manner and in accordance with Allegiant Air’s General Maintenance Manual and all applicable federal regulations.
  • Monitor Minimum Equipment List (MEL)/Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Non-Essential Furnishing List (NEF) use to ensure proper administration and ensure that they are scheduled for repair in a timely manner.
  • Accurately display, track and communicate recovery plans for all AOG aircraft.
  • Develop and manage department budget plan, including Overtime Administration as needed to support the needs of the airline.
  • Oversee internal audit.
  • Develop and maintain department procedures for improvement process.
  • Oversee training including course development, scheduling of all personnel in department and assess training effectiveness.
  • Maintain Maintenance Control Procedures Manual (MCPM).
  • Prioritize work that requires immediate action and ability to separate essential functions and parse out work which can wait until operational demand is reduced.
  • Ability to make at least one maintenance station visit per year, which may require riding in the flight deck jump seat to interact with the flight crew while en route; if the jump seat is available.
  • Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities, as appropriate.
  • Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
