About The Position
The responsibility of this position is to write specifications and provide drawings as necessary on all major projects. Due to the nature of the maintenance work here, plans are frequently changed to meet emergency needs, or because of short notice priority changes. This position requires inspections of all buildings and grounds on a six - month basis, looking for needed maintenance items. Work schedules are made from these inspections and work orders. The work involves carpentry frame/trim work, paint and sheetrock, plastering, masonry, concrete, ceramic & terrazzo tile.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use all hand tools and machines to complete assignments.
- Ability to read drawings, sketches, and blueprints to make accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Physical strength to perform heavy tasks.
Nice To Haves
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and concepts of the plaster, carpenter, concrete & masonry trade.
