The Maintenance Department functions in a collaborative relationship to provide a controlled environment for the individuals that live here and the staff that works here. This helps ensure continuous individual and organizational performance improvement in support of Oakwood’s facility mission. The Maintenance Department delivers 24 hours a day/ 7 day a week maintenance service that helps the promotion of optimal resident independence and quality of life in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The department supports the continuity of comprehensive, cost effective, quality person-centered services by ensuring a competent workforce and supporting strategies that enhance the quality of the work environment. All services are provided at the highest standard of professional practice, complying with standards by both federal and state regulations and facility policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to meet criminal background and drug screening standards

Responsibilities

Making repairs to building, furniture, doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs
Assist in maintaining facility grounds, including mowing, weed eating, and picking up debris daily
Complete drywall installation and repair in addition to painting duties
Renovate structures and interiors
Make repair to flooring, tile, and carpet
Assist in other shops and perform other duties deemed necessary by supervisor
Schedule work so that it least interferes with the individuals that live here
Be responsible for keeping all parts and tools in possession till work is completed
Learn and follow policies and procedures
