The Maintenance Automation Technician is responsible for performing the functions of an Automation Technician. This includes troubleshooting Automation System problems, facilitating necessary repairs, determining the cause of failures and taking steps to prevent recurrence. The role involves documenting and communicating software, program, and communication equipment changes, and ensuring work tasks are performed correctly. The technician will provide Automation System support during off-shift hours, maintain a clean and safe work area, and follow safety procedures like Lockout and Tag-out. The position requires willingness to work various hours and shifts, including being available "on call". The technician will also attend meetings, ensure plant and safety rules are followed, use Six Sigma Tools for continuous improvement, perform audits, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. They will assist other maintenance personnel, work at different heights, and participate in TPM activities. Key responsibilities include managing projects from scope to installation, troubleshooting and writing PLC ladder logic in Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, resolving communication issues, and creating/enforcing automation and electrical standards. The role also involves coaching and mentoring other technicians and electricians, and scoping, creating, and executing capital projects.
