About The Position

Under minimum supervision, this role demonstrates experience and technical knowledge of Electronics, Electrical Circuitry, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanics, Mathematics and related skills in the design, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, program and modification of automated equipment such as programmable controllers, sensors, computers, measuring devices, scanners and related automation equipment and associated machinery. Performs other related work as directed.

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician certification.
• General awareness of all safety requirements and regulations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and program PLC logic.
• Responsible for the preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all robots.
• Required to work on all aspects of automation; electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and procedures.
• Required to do electrical work, from facility power to repairing non-automated machines.
• Self-starter who shows the ability to find work when it is not directly pointed out.
• Ability to work in an environment with welding fumes from robots.
• Ability to lift, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime as required, 6-7 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes and corrections in circuitry, programs, controllers, sensors and so forth to simplify or improve processes, procedures or safety.
• Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of electric, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical devices.
• Analyzes and interprets test data.
• Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies electric, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems and components in automated equipment.
• Installs and removes related primary components and assemblies, makes necessary electric, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical hookups to controls, panels and related devices and equipment.
• Coordinates with other skilled trades to assure safe installation and operation.
• Writes technical reports, develops charts and diagrams schematics to describe and illustrate operating characteristics.
