About The Position

This role involves observing, learning, and assisting with basic repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the warehouse. Responsibilities include working on various equipment such as doors, dock levelers, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, and pallet trucks, as well as performing electrical work in compliance with OSHA standards. The technician will also participate in training, maintain tools and machinery, conduct safety equipment tests, keep accurate preventive maintenance records, and perform housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required.
• Mathematical and documentation skills required.
• Basic computer skills required including email, internet searches, and basic data entry.
• May be expected to participate in HAZMAT responder training.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical certification or training preferred.
• Prior maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly convey information and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Observe, learn, and assist with basic repairs and adjustments of warehouse equipment and systems in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Attend and participate in all assigned training sessions as directed.
• Clean, change, and lubricate machinery parts using appropriate tools and methods.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and shop areas in clean and operational condition.
• Conduct tests of safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and assist with answering security alarm calls as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties and keep work areas organized according to established standards.
• Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
