About The Position
Ravenwood Specialty Care, a 176-bed long-term care skilled nursing community located in Waterloo, IA, is now hiring a Maintenance Assistant. This role is part of the maintenance team and offers a full-time schedule with shifts available from 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm, including every 3rd Sunday. The position is with Care Initiatives, a company that operates over 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa. The company emphasizes making a difference every day and providing compassionate care to residents during their healthcare journey.
Requirements
- Ability to multitask and complete assignments timely.
- Interest in creating and maintaining a home-like atmosphere.
- Passion for providing excellent customer service to our residents.
- A strong commitment to helping others and consistently treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine maintenance and repairs to keep the facility safe, clean, and comfortable.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including heating, cooling, and equipment.
- Maintain outdoor areas, walkways, and grounds, including snow/ice removal as needed.
- Assist with heavy cleaning, floor care, and facility upkeep when needed.
- Follow safety policies and support inspections and preventative maintenance.
