About The Position

This is a temporary position that will end in mid-September. The Maintenance Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, oversees the Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations. The role involves sustaining a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and completing all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently. The position also includes mechanically repairing, replacing, and/or installing minor equipment, hardware, and controls (scope to be cleared by the Executive Director), maintaining water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment, and maintaining community plumbing systems. Exterior maintenance duties and performing fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members are also part of the role. The Maintenance Assistant will engage with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Senior living experience desired.
