About The Position
Aegis of Galer is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to assist the Maintenance Director with general maintenance and repairs at an assisted living community, while seeking the lowest-cost solutions to maintenance issues. The role includes performing repairs and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, preparing rooms for new residents, and communicating updates or issues to residents, staff, and the Maintenance Director.
Requirements
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, facilities and operations systems management in an assisted living and dementia care community.
- Ability to build relationships with residents and staff members.
- Ability to maintain resident confidentiality.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Willingness to take a 2-step TB test.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Prepare rooms for new residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, other staff, and the Maintenance Director about updates or issues that need attention.
