About The Position

At FutureCare, Maintenance Assistants help maintain the facility’s physical building assets and property areas. Under limited direction, the role performs general service and repair work to keep facility areas well maintained and operating within budgetary guidelines for residents and staff. The position supports preventative maintenance, repairs, regulatory compliance, and safe upkeep of the maintenance workshop.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Polite and courteous demeanor toward residents and staff members.
Ability to meet physical demands that include standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
At least 2 years of experience working in a building maintenance capacity highly preferred.
Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility environment is a plus.
Ability to multitask and work a flexible shift is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire and safety equipment, and medical equipment.
Perform necessary repairs, maintain accurate records and logs, and produce required reports.
Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulatory codes.
Follow FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and Corporate Compliance Plan.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the maintenance workshop.
Read and log refrigerator temperatures daily.
Test and log water temperatures daily.
Observe budgetary guidelines for supplies and services and follow procedures for FutureCare’s purchase order system.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
