About The Position

Puget Sound Care is hiring a full-time Maintenance Assistant for our 4-Star skilled nursing facility located in West Olympia. We pride ourselves on the quality care we provide our residents and comradery of our staff. We provide both Long-Term Care and Short-Term Acute Care. Requirements

  • Excellent technical and mechanical skills
  • Experience in light carpentry and plumbing
  • Familiarity with skilled nursing Life Safety codes and regulations
  • Ability to handle tools and equipment
  • Ability to make proper calculations for repairs or reports
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff
  • Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly
  • Meets all health requirements, as required by law

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with maintaining HVAC systems
  • Prior experience as a maintenance assistant/technician in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the maintenance director in maintaining our physical plant and grounds
  • Preventive maintenance on all equipment
  • Building repairs to ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and good operating order
