About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Apprentice to support residential property maintenance. The role is suited to someone interested in hands-on work, problem-solving, and mechanical troubleshooting, and committed to quality customer service and residents’ comfort and safety. It offers an opportunity to develop skills and grow in the residential maintenance field. The apprentice performs foundational tasks under supervision and participates in online, shadowing, classroom, and other learning activities related to on-site maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer and smartphone literacy.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally and in writing, for work-related responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Perform basic building inspections to identify maintenance issues and assist with preventive maintenance, including simple HVAC checks, filter replacements, and equipment lubrication.
Learn and apply foundational maintenance procedures under supervision.
Diagnose and assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs in residential units, and help address minor appliance malfunctions with guidance.
Support property groundskeeping, including basic landscaping, lawn care, occasional snow removal, and removal of trash and debris from common areas.
Learn to document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and communicate completed work and ongoing projects to property management.
Interact professionally with residents under supervision and address maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
Participate in learning activities to develop knowledge and skills related to on-site maintenance.
