About The Position
A-Line EDS is seeking a mechanically inclined person interested in building a long-term career in maintenance. No years of experience are needed. The apprentice will receive hands-on training from experienced mechanics while developing mechanical skills and learning to use tools and equipment safely. The position pays $19.00 per hour and is scheduled for the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:45 AM to 4:30 PM.
Requirements
- A mechanical mindset and an interest in figuring out how things work.
- A desire to develop a career in maintenance or become a mechanic.
- Dependability, safety-consciousness, and willingness to learn.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work involving standing, walking, and lifting.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors in a maintenance shop with noise, grease, dirt, and other industrial conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with DOT inspections and repairs on semi trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Learn to inspect industrial equipment, identify potential issues, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Support building and grounds maintenance as needed.
- Pick up parts and supplies to keep maintenance work moving.
- Learn to use tools and equipment safely while developing mechanical skills.
