About The Position

Johnson Clarke Inc, a Palm Beach Tan franchise with 20 locations, is looking for an Maintenance and Facilities Technician in the area surrounding St. Louis, MO. This position involves performing general maintenance and upkeep duties for all Palm Beach Tan retail locations in the greater St. Louis Area. The role reports directly to the Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech. You will travel to all St Louis and greater area retail locations to complete required work. This is an opportunity to work on various equipment including washers, dryers, tanning beds, and spray booths, with ongoing training and support provided. The position focuses on repairing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and understanding the root causes of problems. The company provides tools, training, and support, and seeks an individual with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, great attention to detail, and pride in their work. This is a fast-paced position with high expectations, offering variable hours up to full-time depending on abilities and growth potential.

Requirements

Previous experience in building and equipment maintenance work is generally required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
Ability to relate to staff and public in a courteous manner.
Ability to acquire job skills with three months of on-the-job training.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Be able to assist with lifting heavier items as well.
Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain.
Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

Receives oral or written orders from Head Maintenance and Facilities Tech
Performs work according to standard procedure and by each facility's operational schedule.
Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
Performs touch-up and finish painting.
Replaces light bulbs.
Sets up and tears down equipment.
Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
Participates in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks.
Assists in shipping and receiving of parts and supplies.
Provides assistance to staff, customers, and other employees as necessary.
Tanning equipment lamp changes.
Work on all tanning equipment, on-the-job training provided.
