About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates more than 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada, with approximately 9,000 employees. The Maint Mechanic 1 performs preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and supports production goals in collaboration with team members. The role requires safe and efficient use of tools and equipment, accurate work and parts records, and the ability to work independently and with others. The position operates primarily around moving mechanical equipment and may involve inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. Successful candidates must pass a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and procedures.
- Submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.
