About The Position
Reporting to the foreman and designates, operators are an integral member of field operations, responsible for providing support on all our projects.
Requirements
- CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015 & Ground Disturbance level 2
- Candidates must have a minimum 3 years of directly related experience in the water & sewer industry working on road rehab, curb and gutter, asphalt breaking and commercial projects.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unaided
- Excellent motivational & troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work under high stress situations effectively and in a fast-paced environment under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable operating on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of surroundings while working with flaggers & traffic control employees
Responsibilities
- Excavate and slope ditches to grade
- Working with the ground crew to excavate near existing utilities
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, including pre & post trip inspections
- Responsible for placement of water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
- Follow directions of ground crew regarding craning, material placement and grading.
- Follow company policies & procedures regarding SWP’s, inspections, and incidents etc.
- Other tasks as assigned
