About The Position

Connecticut DSS is seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer to support a critical enterprise data migration initiative. The ideal candidate must be currently local to Connecticut and possess 10+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, IMS Database, and mainframe development. Responsibilities include analyzing legacy applications, developing data extraction and conversion processes, modifying COBOL programs and JCL, and supporting migration of IMS data to target platforms. Candidates should have strong experience with BMC Utilities for IMS, FTP/SFTP, data validation, reconciliation, and batch processing. Experience with File-AID, EZtrieve, CLIST, REXX, and legacy modernization projects is highly preferred. Government, healthcare, insurance, or financial services mainframe experience is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and independent problem-solving skills are required. Only candidates currently residing in Connecticut will be considered.
