About The Position

Tier One Technologies is seeking Mainframe Operators to support a government customer in Washington, DC. This is a long-term contract that will commence sometime during Q4 2026. Work must be performed at the customer facility in Washington, DC. The role involves operating and maintaining high-speed laser and impact printers, managing printer supplies, executing job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting within TSO/ISPF, and processing and managing reports. Operators will provide operational support and assistance to Production Control Staffing. Coverage is required Monday through Friday across two daily shifts: Shift 1 (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and Shift 2 (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), with two operators per shift.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform operational support duties.
  • Must be able to operate high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and bursters.
  • Must be able to manage printer supplies, paper replenishment, and media.
  • Must be able to execute job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting within TSO/ISPF.
  • Must be able to process and manage reports.
  • Must be able to provide operational support and assistance to Production Control Staffing.
  • Must be able to set up printers based on instructions from mainframe computer consoles.
  • Must be able to load paper, toner, and developer.
  • Must be able to remove and organize completed print jobs.
  • Must be able to communicate with mainframe operating system or printer maintenance contractors.
  • Must be able to unload boxes of paper and forms.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and organized printer area.
  • Must be able to support Production Control staff by submitting, scheduling, and tracking jobs using JCL within TSO.
  • Must be able to notify the baling room when recycle bins are full.
  • All work must be performed onsite at the client facility in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining high-speed laser and impact printers, and bursters within the mainframe data center.
  • Managing printer supplies, including paper replenishment and media.
  • Executing job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting within TSO/ISPF.
  • Processing and managing reports.
  • Providing operational support and assistance to Production Control Staffing.
  • Setting up printers based on instructions from mainframe computer consoles.
  • Loading paper, toner, and developer into printers.
  • Promptly removing and organizing completed print jobs for customer distribution.
  • Communicating with mainframe operating system or printer maintenance contractors regarding system or printer malfunctions.
  • Unloading boxes of paper and forms as needed for print tasks.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized printer area by removing empty printer boxes, toner containers, and loose paper.
  • Supporting Production Control staff by submitting, scheduling, and tracking jobs using JCL within TSO.
  • Notifying the baling room when recycle bins are full.
