About The Position
Pyramid Consulting is hiring a Mainframe Developer for a contract opportunity lasting 6+ months, with long-term potential. The role is remote within the U.S. and supports mainframe enhancements, fixes, and production issues. The developer will provide analysis, reviewed code or configuration changes, test evidence, and implementation and backout notes. They will document production issue diagnosis and resolution or escalation, update runbooks, link work outputs to team work items, provide status updates and knowledge transfer, and submit artifacts for review against acceptance criteria.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with mainframe tools such as COBOL, CICS, and Assembler.
- Proven ability to provide Tier 3 support and production support.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in documenting processes and findings.
- Familiarity with knowledge transfer and documentation best practices.

- Experience with additional mainframe tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide analysis, reviewed code or configuration changes, test evidence, and implementation/backout notes for assigned mainframe enhancements and fixes.
- Record diagnosis, actions taken, resolution or escalation, and root-cause findings for escalated production issues.
- Update runbooks as warranted and link outputs to assigned team work items.
- Provide status updates and knowledge transfer, address review comments, and submit applicable artifacts for review against acceptance criteria.
- Provide Tier 3 support and production support.
