About The Position

NTT DATA is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their team in Plano, Texas. This role involves providing technical leadership, developing and maintaining architecture solutions on a high-scale data processing platform, setting technical standards, and mentoring engineers. The developer will assess and research current platform implementations, collaborate with Operations on infrastructure upgrades and performance tuning, and work with peers and management on process improvements and customer service enhancements. Responsibilities also include participating in code reviews, unit testing, and providing support for issues in non-production and production environments.

Requirements

5+ years on CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
5+ years CICS System knowledge would be valuable.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar subject.
5+ years of experience in information technology.
Financial services experience, preferably in Brokerage Domain

Nice To Haves

Good understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.
Should be familiar with DB2 tools, File-Aid, scheduler and debugger tools.
Understanding of Distributed Applications/ System
Exposure to Brokerage/Finance domain will be an added advantage
Prior experience of working in highly transactional, fault tolerant and data driven systems.
Ability to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them and work with less experienced staff to mitigate more complex issues.
Ability to apply different communication and leadership styles for different teams and geographies.
Ability to lead through influence and know what data is needed to drive effective decisions

Responsibilities

Provide thought & technical leadership for the key initiatives.
Developing and maintaining architecture solutions on a platform dedicated to high scale processing of large amounts of data.
Setting, communicating, and reinforcing technical standards
Providing leadership for junior and senior engineers alike, by understanding how to leverage and enhance their current skills
Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime
Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.
Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or production
