About The Position
The Mainframe Developer is a Developer III who translates application storyboards and use cases into functional applications. The role designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code, while ensuring application performance, quality, and responsiveness. The developer identifies bottlenecks and bugs and devises solutions, and helps maintain code quality, organization, and automation. The role is local to West Des Moines, Iowa, at this time. The stated maximum rate is $60 per hour on W-2.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience.
- Experience with mainframe development, COBOL, and JCL.
- Proficiency in applicable languages and knowledge of their ecosystems.
- Familiarity with design and architectural patterns.
- Ability to write reusable code libraries and clean, readable code.
- Knowledge of applicable patterns, concepts, frameworks, and services.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
- Understanding of class-loading mechanisms.
