About The Position

The Main Lobby Concierge is expected to remain at the Main Lobby Desk to greet all individuals entering the hospital. Visitor and Vendor Passes will be issued to all Inpatient Visitors and Vendors. It is also expected that this position will temperature screen all individuals entering the hospital. The Concierge will also monitor surveillance cameras and the door access system.

Requirements

  • Possesses sound customer service, interpersonal and written communications skills.
  • Able to deal with all people in a variety of situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, flexibility in changing circumstances and compassion.
  • Adequate hearing and vision with or without corrective devices.
  • Ability to sit 4-6 hours at a time.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time (6-8 hours day).
  • Typing 35% of work week.
  • Ability to communicate well in English both verbal and written.
  • Problem solving.
  • Flexibility of thought, reasoning, organizational skills and the ability to act in some new or unfamiliar situations.
  • Selective attention and concentration are necessary to complete task.
  • Basic formulation, content, syntax and spelling are adequate to complete the task, only simple sentence or very short paragraph expression is necessary.
  • Task requires spontaneous communication, and paraphrasing in and out of the context of discussion.
  • Task allows for comprehension of only basic ideas and needs limited in complexity and form, requires ability to process simple 2-step commands.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers.
  • Ability to multiply and divide 10's and 100's by 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations with coins and bills for the purpose of cashier/petty cash etc.
  • Ability to perform operations with measuring units such as cup, quart, foot, yard, ounce, and pound.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all individuals entering the hospital.
  • Issue Visitor and Vendor Passes to all Inpatient Visitors and Vendors.
  • Temperature screen all individuals entering the hospital.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and the door access system.
  • Evaluate persons entering the main lobby to determine if they pose a safety threat to the organization.
  • Monitor, question, and observe any suspicious behavior and take appropriate action, calling for assistance as needed.
  • Assist people with directions and destinations by following department guidelines.
  • Monitor the closed circuit television system.
  • Keep abreast of daily reports and communications, memos, bulletins, incident reports, and other pertinent information helpful to job activity.
  • Make recommendations to improve quality of enforcement by submitting reports to Officer In-Charge or Security Supervisor.
  • Submit repair request orders as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a good rapport and work to establish cooperative working relations with all members of the department and hospital staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
