Mailroom Clerk - OPS Opportunity

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a mailroom or similar logistical/support role is preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred
• Proficient in basic computer applications like email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks such as lifting, sorting, and carrying.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the receiving, sorting, and distribution incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments and individuals within the college.
• Help prepare and dispatch outgoing mail and packages, ensuring accurate labeling and timely delivery.
• Ability to learn the College’s mail processing systems and equipment, which include, but are not limited to Workday, Purchasing Procedures and basic accounting practices.
• Assist keeping records of incoming and outgoing packages, including tracking and filing.
• Help respond to inquiries from faculty and staff regarding mail services and package whereabouts.
• Ensure the mailroom is organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Assist with the coordination with external postal services and courier companies for special mail handling needs.
