The Mailroom Assistant manages all incoming, some outgoing mail and packages. This includes sorting, weighing, and labeling items, as well as operating mailing machinery and coordinating with external couriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS). The goal is to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of materials across the organization. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Mail Processing: I nbound sorting: Responsible for opening and sorting all incoming mail. Outbound processing: Prepare outgoing mail – primarily to lockboxes for depositing or in some instances Accounts Payable related mail. Machine Operation: Operate and perform basic maintenance on postage meters, folding/inserting machines, and high-volume scanners. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive or "private" mail with extreme discretion, ensuring that HIPAA or corporate privacy standards are met during handling. Digital Mailroom: Scan physical documents into the digital filing system (especially relevant in hybrid or paperless office environments) Other duties as assigned
